I'm getting FM sound design right now so DX7v is serving it's purpose really well. I’m going to try and save some £s to update to v9 when Black Friday comes around though - by then I’m sure GAS will be hard to resist. I’m going to try and save some £s to update to v9 when Black Friday comes around though - by then I’m sure GAS will be hard to said: I haven’t even properly explored many of the v8 synths yet. The existing Prophet 5 warms up nicely when run through those fx too… I’m sure the new one is going to be much better - the new Roland synths from v8 do stand out - but I’m happy enough for now. I’ll use my iPad in IDAM mode to scratch my MS20 itch - the Korg iMS20 sounds pretty great put through my outboard EQ or one of the many ‘analogue’ colouring fx plug ins I have. I think it’s a good update but will wait as I don’t want to spend that kind of cash at the moment plus I am still far from bored with v8! It should be $149 if you have V8 and SQ-80. The Upgrade price for me is $199 as I have v8. Upgrade price should be $50 less given I bought a few things from them last year and have v8 already. Only refreshes and I got SQ80 last year, which is great btw, but still not enough to get me to upgrade right away this time. I'll probably buy the next sale when v11 is imminent, presumably this time next year. Not a great upgrade imo. Seems more like a cash grab than an actual new version.Īs for me, I'm on v8 and quite content. At any rate, this "new version" only seems to be the addition of a couple of synths. I feel like I remember Acid and MiniFreak being in v9 also, but can't say for sure. In my experience: A heavily discounted software sale is a reliable indicator that a new version is imminent.Īs a big fan of Arturia's V (and FX) Collection, the thing I find cheeky about this "new" version is that they list the "Augmented" intruments as being "New in V Collection X" when I distinctly recall them being "New in V Collection 9" the last time I checked. Literally every single software sale I've ever had my eyes on has been this way They heavily discount the old version right before releasing the new one. I wonder if there is a grace period or if they expect to sell those folks an upgrade! Slightly cheeky to release it so soon after those heavy discounts on V9. I have the Strings and Voices already which sound really good. Was checking so Id feel better about giving them a miss but they're only like 3 gb a piece. That being said I was pleasantly surprised by how small the installs for the Augmented series are (I'm very conscious of install sizes at the moment, being very selective what I install from Komplete etc). Ive never heard anything from the mini freak online that has made me think "i want that synth". I would like to have the upgrade for the Moog Mini (49 euro if I get separately) but given I picked up VK2 (9 quid!) and various Ekss synths this year Im all good for synth bass and I also have Diva (the first paid VST i ever bought!). The presets, sequencer and FX are where it shines.īut 149 euros for that new electric piano and 3 more of the augmented series and the minifreak.probably wont bite this time. I already had AB元 but I was pretty happy with ACID V for 40 odd quid a few months ago. If you already have AB元 or Phoscyon it might not be worth the money, but I like it The built-in sequencer is nice, and it sounds really great with the Bassline Generator player.
